TIME has been called on a popular pub in Newquay.

The Slug & Lettuce in Gover Lane is closing down on Saturday, June 14.

The cocktail bar, which is owned by the Stonegate Group, is reportedly due to re-open as a pub with a new publican.

A spokesperson for Stonegate Group said: "Today, we have announced the temporary closure of Slug & Lettuce Newquay as it transitions to a new site.

“The venue will be closing its doors for a short period from Saturday, June. After this closure period, the venue will be reopening with a fresh new look with a new publican in place.

“We're not in a position to confirm the reopening date of the site nor the future of the site just yet as agreements are still being finalised but we will have more details in the near future.

“For further context, the site is transitioning from Slug & Lettuce to Stonegate Pub Partners, with the latter being our leased and tenanted division.”

A spokesperson for Slug & Lettuce in a social media post added: “Thank you and farewell.

“After an amazing journey, “Slug & Lettuce Newquay is closing its doors on Saturday, June 14.

“We’ve loved every laugh, every cocktail, and every glittery moment shared with you all. Thank you for being part of the fun and making it so special! “Happy memories.”

Stonegate also owns Sailors, Walkabout and the Red Lion in Newquay.
