Police are appealing for information after the theft of equipment from a cemetery in a Cornish village.

St Stephen in Brannel Parish Council reported the theft to the police.

The council said that all its equipment at Nanpean Cemetery had been stolen.

In a statement, the council said: “This loss will have a short-term impact on some services whilst we deal with the insurance companies and replace the equipment.

“One of the items was a John Deere ride-on mower that is used to cut, amongst other areas, the roadside verges in the parish.
