A STUDENT led company in Newquay has been crowned the county champions of a prestigious entrepreneurial competition.
Key To Cornwall, formed by Year 13 business students at Treviglas Sixth Form, has won year’s Young Enterprise Company Programme.

The company aims to build a community for young people to explore Cornwall, which encourages them not only to visit its beautiful locations but also to support local businesses in an accessible and affordable way.
The group has spent the academic year applying their classroom learning to real-world business challenges, developing their company from concept to execution as part of the nationally recognised programme.
They have been supported by Laura Ford, learning leader for Year 11 and careers lead, alongside business mentor Sarah Cotton from SUEZ.
The Cornwall Showcase event proved to be a demanding and competitive experience.
Students competed against teams from Truro College and a range of local secondary schools. The event required participants to host a trade stand, undergo interviews with judges, produce a detailed business plan, and deliver a formal business pitch.
Their efforts were recognised not only with the overall county title, but also with awards for best customer service and best use of technology.
A spokesperson for Treviglas Sixth Form said: “Throughout the day, Treviglas students demonstrated exceptional professionalism, confidence, and teamwork.
“Balancing the demands of the competition alongside preparation for their A-level examinations, the students have shown remarkable dedication and resilience.
“Their achievements reflect both their hard work and the strength of the Sixth Form provision at Treviglas.”
Students received detailed feedback from judges following the competition, which they have been actively implementing in preparation for the next stage.
The team went on to represent Cornwall at the regional finals in Taunton on Tuesday, May 5.
