Newquay will be welcoming back a street market following its success earlier this year.
Newquay BID (Business Improvement District) is working in partnership with Cornwall Shop Small and Newquay Farmers Market to stage the Newquay Shop Small Market on Saturday, September 30.
The market is following on from the first such event held in May and is promising even more stalls will be located along Bank Street and onto the seafront at the Killacourt.
Visitors can expect over 50 stalls, live music and creative activities for children.
Sarah Curley, of Cornwall Shop Small, said: “I am thrilled to be working with Newquay BID and Newquay Farmers Market again.
“Our fabulous local creatives will be showcasing beautiful artworks and colourful prints, unique locally-made ceramics, laidback lifestyle wares, eye-catching jewellery, handmade homewares, a bounty of home-grown flowers and plants as well as slow fashion for kids and grown-ups with sustainability at heart.”
A farmers market spokesperson said: “I am delighted to be collaborating to bring a curated local and vibrant selection of our foodie traders to the Newquay Shop Small Market.
“The line-up will include fresh fruit and veg, cheeses and charcuterie, wines, spirits and craft ales, fresh artisan bread and baked treats, meat, fresh fish and much more.”
The return of the market is part of Newquay BID’s goal to drive significant footfall outside of the peak holiday season.
Newquay BID manager Mark Warren said: “In May, we proved that these events boost footfall to our town and we’re really excited to bring back another destination market to continue building on regeneration in Newquay town centre.
“We received positive feedback from both visitors and businesses last time out and this can only continue to improve growth in our town. The street market exists to enhance the business landscape of the town centre and not compete with it.
“If any businesses wish to create a market day special or operate slightly differently on the day of the event, such as offering tasters or trading from outside their shop windows, we would be delighted to help promote this via the BID’s channels.”
