A protest is being held on Saturday to oppose works getting underway to concrete the cliff at Whipsiderry as part of plans to build luxury villas.

Campaigners will be demonstrating against the license granted to a developer by the Marine Management Organisation to stabilise the cliffs ahead of constructing seven apartments on the site of the former Paradise Hotel.

Friends of Save Our Cliffpath and the local community will be gathering to voice their anger how the Government body granted the licence, which has been objected by Newquay Town Council, Cornwall Geological Society, the Environment Agency, Natural England and received 350 complaints.

Protesters will be gathering at Whipsiderry Beach at 10am
