LARGE crowds of people lined the streets to witness the long-awaited return of Probus Carnival on Saturday.
The carnival parade acted as a climax to what was an incredibly busy week for the village.
Probus Fun Week provided an opportunity to bring the community closer together, through providing a whole host of inclusive events for friends and family to take part in and enjoy. Events that took place included a quiz night between two teams from the Hawkins Arms who came up against Probus’ Comrades Club, with the latter prevailing in the competition.
There were plenty of activities to help keep youngsters busy too, including a sports day and an adventure quest amongst a whole host of events. As part of the village’s packed schedule the Probus Shindig & Vintage Rally also took place providing plenty of entertainment.
This included an evening of laughter with comedian Johnny Cowling and the band Jailhouse on Friday evening, while the day before Whippletree helped get people off their seats for an evening of barn dancing.
The fun week came to a close with a party at the Hawkins Arms pub, where a silent disco took place and music performances from Daniel Costin and Josh Curnow.
