Supporters of Newquay RNLI have plenty of fund-raising efforts on the horizon to keep the charity afloat.

The next event will be a coffee morning at the Griffin Inn on Saturday, March 25 from 10am to 11.45am.

Admission is £3 to include coffee/tea and biscuits. Besides a raffle and tombola there will be stalls selling cakes, jigsaws, books and RNLI gifts.

Organiser Diane Thain said “This is always a good opportunity to meet old friends and have a chat while buying a few gifts.”

Friends at Atlantic View Café in East Street are organising a raffle for Newquay RNLI and the Cornwall Air Ambulance until April 15.

A spokesman said: “There are 10 great prizes donated by local businesses. Why not look in and buy some tickets, and have coffee and cake while you are there?”

The Newquay RNLI shop at the harbour will be re-opening at Easter.

The opening hours will be 10am to 4pm in the school holidays then 11am to 3pm in the quieter period.

An RNLI spokesman said: “If you would like to look around the boathouse and see the boats, especially our new boat Uncle Johnny, it is usually open to visitors at the same time as the shop.”

Newquay RNLI will be staging its first Easter egg hunt in Newquay Harbour on Easter Sunday. Children of all ages can enjoy hunting for the clues hidden around the harbour, solve the puzzle and receive a chocolate prize and some goodies from the RNLI Shop.

Lifeboat Day will be on Saturday, July 29.

One of its most popular stalls is teddies. If you have any previously loved soft toys with CE labels they can be donated to the RNLI shop or at Truscotts in Fore Street.
