Plans to convert a garden shed in Liskeard for use as a dog grooming business have been opposed by the town council.
The town’s planning committee voted to object to Wags Dog Grooming’s proposal to operate at the rear of Ash Park Terrace.
There were concerns about access onto Station Road, possible obstruction to access for the emergency services and other impacts on the neighbourhood.
The committee has also opposed plans to create a sewage treatment plant.
Councillors voted to object to the proposal at Toll House, Looe Mills Road, saying there was no clear justification for the plan.
The committee also concluded the proposed scheme was located in a flood zone and critical drainage area and was not appropriate for the environment.
Cornwall Council is due to have the final say on the planning applications.
