Plans are in full swing to build a new £50,000 play park in Bodmin.
Bodmin Town Council’s estates committee has given the go-ahead to construct the facility at Moor View Play Park.
The play park will include swings, a dish roundabout, a multi-play challenge climbing feature with a slide and an accessible inground trampoline.
The equipment will be installed on eco-smart grass tiles and enclosed within a metal railed fence. A bin and bench will also be included. The installation will centre around a Robinia Trim Agility Trail that the council already owns, ready for installation.
The winning tender for the play park was provided by Sutcliffe Play South West. A council spokesman said: “The project has been in the pipeline for some time as the original play park on the field at Moor View has long since gone.
“The project will cost £50,000 to complete and Bodmin Town Council provisioned a budget of £60,000 dedicated to the installation of a play park at Moor View. Bodmin Town Council is very happy to provide a much-needed facility for the youth of Moor View and we hope you will be as excited as we are to see the project moving forward.”
Mayor Philip Cooper said: “It is fantastic to improve the offering for our community. We hope it will be a valuable asset for many years to come.”
