NEW plans have been proposed to turn a former Newquay hotel into flats.
A change of use planning application has been submitted to convert the Ravensbury Hotel in Pentire Avenue into four self-contained apartments, which previously received planning permission.
A spokesperson for Chartwood Heritage Planning said: “The updated design includes some minor revisions that make better use of the internal spaces and openings, to work better with the internal circulation and room layout.
“The revised design also creates a study within flat three by extending a modest part of the first floor.
“The proposed development retains the general form and appearance of the previously permitted development, comprising a contemporary design which echoes the neighbouring building, and the alterations set out are considered to function successfully for prospective occupants, providing good standards of internal space. Externally, the amenity is not adversely affected, and the proportionate parking provision is retained.
“The revisions proposed have a neutral to positive impact on the aesthetics of the previously approved design and appear to comply with the prevailing planning policies. As such, it is considered that the proposal to vary the noted planning condition is acceptable, on balance.”
