Radio St Austell Bay (RSAB), Cornwall’s longest running community radio station, is excited to announce a new partnership with The CHAOS Group.

It’s hoped the ambitious move will build upon the great work the station has established in serving the community, while breathing new life into the organisation and a fresh new sound on air.

CHAOS Radio will launch at 7am on Monday, June 26, offering a wide range of programming, including feel-good music, national and local news bulletins, talk shows, community events and live broadcasts on location.

RSAB was founded in 2008 to provide local news, information, entertainment and a community voice to St Austell residents. It broadcasts on 105.6 FM, serving a population of more than 30,000 around the clock.

Station manager Bob Wylde said: “We’re really excited to be relaunching.

“The team have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to safeguard the future of the station and ensure we can continue with our mission of representing the people of St Austell.

“We believe The CHAOS Group reflects the same values as our organisation, with their commitment to serving the community.”

Launched in 2018, CHAOS Radio is an online, community-focused station playing feel-good music and showcasing original content. It will continue to be available on 105.6FM across St Austell, on the CHAOS Radio mobile app and online at www.chaos.radio

The Truro-based CHAOS Group is a collection of like-minded and community-focused social enterprises, specialising in well-being, care, digital innovation, employability and farming.

Nathan Hunkin, director of digital and innovation for The CHAOS Group, said: “CHAOS stands for Community Helping All Of Society. By partnering with the RSAB team, we hope to make a real positive impact to those living and working in the coverage area, showcasing the great things our community has to offer.”

Both RSAB and The CHAOS Group are not-for-profit organisations that rely on the support of its listeners and volunteers.
