NEW padel courts are being served up in Newquay after the facilities suffered storm damage shortly after opening.
UK PADEL is re-launching its five padel courts at SeaSpace aparthotel on May 23, which feature three for doubles play and two for singles.
The upgraded facilities follow the extensive damage caused during Storm Darragh and Storm Bert, which was a setback for both UK PADEL and the local sporting community.

The new courts are built stronger than ever to withstand the Cornish coastal elements thanks to reinforced design and upgraded materials.
Nick Baker, CEO and co-founder of UK PADEL, said: “This isn’t just a rebuild – it’s a commitment to the sport and the region. Cornwall has shown great enthusiasm for padel, and we’re proud to bring back an even better facility for local players, visitors and future talent.
“Whether you’re a seasoned player or have never picked up a padel racket before, this accessible sport really is for all ages and abilities. We can’t wait to see the people of Newquay and Cornwall, as well as visitors to the region, give these new courts a go.”
Padel is a fast-paced racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It's typically played in doubles on an enclosed court about one-third the size of a tennis court, with glass walls and mesh fencing that allow the ball to bounce back into play, much like in squash.
The re-opening at SeaSpace will introduce popular UK PADEL events to the region, which includes Americanos on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as socials for beginners, intermediates and advanced players throughout the week.
UK PADEL is also launching Padel and a Pint on Friday evenings to provide a fun opportunity for the padel community to get together.
