The National Garden Scheme (NGS) is busy preparing for the Royal Cornwall Show and visitors will be greeted by two stunning floral stands, either side of the entrance to the Flower Tent.
This year, Greenstone, Falmouth is the generous sponsor and will be constructing the stands and Trevena Cross Nursery, Helston is kindly supporting the event by lending all the plants for the display.
The stands will be planted in a jungle style, complete with a water feature and charcoal burner, which sends an environmental message about the use of Biochar as a natural soil improver. Visitors will be able to collect a booklet giving details of more than 60 gardens opening to the public for charity this season.
The National Garden Scheme is passionate about the benefits of gardens and gardening for health and well-being and opens private gardens to raise money for health and nursing charities, such as Marie Curie, Macmillan Cancer Care and Parkinson's UK.
Grants are also made to benefit community gardens, with projects in Par Bay, Penzance and St Austell being recent recipients.
