Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is offering a Christmas tree recycling service for some households in Cornwall.
Last Christmas, “treecyclers” raised more than £5,000 for the charity, which runs the Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.
This year, it will be collecting real trees in even more locations in return for a donation to CHSW, including in St Austell, Bodmin, and surrounding villages (postcode areas PL23, PL24, PL25, PL26, PL30 and PL31).
Volunteers from Biffa will be collecting trees between January 11 and 13, and collections can be booked in advance on the CHSW website until Thursday, January 5.
CHSW area fundraiser Sally Bridger said: “This is such an easy, green and charitable way to recycle your Christmas tree, while helping to provide vital care and support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
“The money raised from collecting and recycling trees will help make a huge difference at the most difficult of times.
“We’d like to say a huge thank-you to Biffa, who are generously donating their time and vehicles to help us collect the Christmas trees – we are very grateful for their support.”
