Members of Madron History Group have got together for their first ‘near end of year’ social evening since 2019.

They gathered in Landithy Hall and were entertained firstly by the singing group ’KanGwerin, comprising Anna Slater, Phil Davies and Phil Westren, and then the performance of a comical play called ‘Trouble at Trewiddly’ which was written by Anna Slater, and set in immediate post-World War Two Madron.

Finally, with Bridgit England leading the way on the piano, several carols were sung in the build-up to Christmas.

Speaking at the end of the evening, producer Phil Westren said: “Thanks are due to everyone who contributed to the event in whatever way. It was excellent and all the plaudits bestowed were justly deserved.

“Such evenings are very much a thing of the past nowadays, which is a real pity, because they can be of real benefit in community, and especially so for those who can’t get about as much as they used to.”
