AS PART of their annual calendar of social events, members of Court Pendennis of the Foresters Friendly Society gathered recently at the Trelissick Estate in Feock, near Truro.

The warm and sunny day began with coffee and conversation in the charming Crofters outdoor café, setting the tone for a delightful excursion.

Basking in what was arguably the sunniest and warmest day of the year so far, the group enjoyed a leisurely stroll through Trelissick’s expansive and vibrant gardens.

With sweeping views of the River Fal, Carrick Roads, and Falmouth Harbour, the estate offered a feast for the eyes at every turn.

Adding depth and insight to the visit, Branch Secretary Gary Webber - himself a lifelong horticulturist - served as an informal guide.

With enthusiasm and deep expertise, he identified a wide array of rare plant species, sharing fascinating details about their origins and characteristics. His informative commentary and willingness to field questions greatly enriched the group's experience.

The afternoon concluded with a relaxed lunch in the estate’s courtyard café, followed by time to browse the gift shop and second hand bookstore - perfect endings to a memorable day.
