Members of the Foresters Friendly Society’s Court Pendennis enjoyed a recent visit to the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro.

The Cornish Range brought back many memories, and many in the party stepped into the shoes of Cornish Giant Anthony Payne, the 17th century soldier from Stratton who stood at 7ft 4ins tall and whose portrait hangs in the museum.

After several hours exploring the exhibits, displays and paintings, members repaired for lunch and a good chat.

Visits to other attractions are planned throughout the year as part of a social programme organised by Ken Thomas from Helston.

Court Pendennis 3754 is part of the Foresters Friendly Society, which was founded in 1834 and offers a warm welcome to new members of all genders and ages. Enquiries should be directed to secretary Gary Webber on 01326 315055.
