Scott Trayner, the manager of WAX Sports Bar, said: “We wanted to do something that brings the whole community together for this historic moment in women’s football.

“It’s a chance to cheer on the Lionesses while directly supporting the local football club in Newquay.

“Gates open at 3pm, and early arrival is encouraged to grab a good viewing spot. The event is family-friendly, and guests are encouraged to bring camp chairs, picnic blankets, and plenty of team spirit.

“With the Lionesses one win away from European glory, this is set to be one of Cornwall’s most exciting football events of the summer. It’s coming home.”

The England women’s football team secured their spot in the final following a dramatic 2-1 win against Italy in extra time on Tuesday night. England will face Germany or Spain who meet later on Wednesday at 8pm.
