A freehold block of flats in Looe that featured in the hit TV series ‘Beyond Paradise’ is going to auction.

Dorrien House – a detached building at 21 Beech Terrace in Looe – has a freehold guide price of £475,000 to £525,000.

The historic fishing port and holiday destination of Looe has featured heavily in the recent ‘Beyond Paradise’ BBC series, a spin-off from the popular Death in Paradise comedy drama.

The block of four flats are among the lots in third sale of 2023 by the regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.

Three are currently let, delivering a total of £19,500 per annum. All the flats have two bedrooms, apart from one which has a single bedroom.

Senior auction appraiser David Henwood said: “We expect keen interest from investors in this property, which is in an elevated position with views across the Looe Valley.

“It is considered suitable for continued letting purposes and some parties may wish to explore the redevelopment potential of its substantial garage, subject to the necessary consents.”

David added: “Looe has long been a popular destination and its prominence in the Beyond Paradise series has certainly helped to further raise its profile. For many people, and property owners, it certainly is a little bit of heaven on earth.”

Also in Looe, Springfield in Shutta Lane has a freehold guide of £115,000 to £135,000.

A demi-detached, three-storey house with three bedrooms, it is close to the town centre.

David said: “The property requires a programme of improvement works and offers considerable potential.

“This may be for owner-occupation, letting or even for some form of sub-division into flats subject to the necessary consents.”

Springfield is being auctioned in arrangement with Pope Estate, Business and Letting Agents of East Looe.

Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year, with offices in Essex, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the West Country.

One of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, it has 130 lots on offer in its third auction of 2023, which ends on Thursday May 4.
