A new fitness space has opened in Newquay.

Newquay Leisure World has converted an under-used covered space at the back of the centre into an outdoor gym.

The project has been funded by GLL, which runs Newquay Leisure World on behalf of Cornwall Council.

GLL senior general manager Amelia Kitchen said: “It’s a unique facility that’s added a whole new dimension to our Newquay offering and is already proving very popular.

“We’ve got new classes running there, with some of our fitness instructors and personal trainers on hand to help users achieve their goals.

“A lot has changed in the last three years and it’s important for us, as a leisure provider, to accommodate customers who want to exercise in the fresh air.

“As a not-for-profit social enterprise, GLL is committed to helping improve community health and well-being and this investment is designed to do exactly that.

“We’re delighted with the feedback we’re getting and anyone looking to kick-start their fitness journey in January is welcome to pop by and take a look at what we have on offer.”
