Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service spent this morning battling a residential blaze in Chacewater.

Fire crews were called out at 4.50am.  On arrival firefighters reported seeing large plums of smoke and additional appliances were mobilised.

Further appliances were then mobilised at 5.44am.

The fire service said at 7.45am this morning that ‘good progress is being made and crews are continuing to extinguish the fire’. 

At 9.30am relief crews from Truro and Tolvaddon handed over with the crews who have been there since the incident start before the fire service started leaving the scene at 10am, although a number stayed to watch for hot spots.
