NATURE and wildlife enthusiasts have plenty to chirp about after attending a successful birdwatching trip.

The Connect with Nature’s group visited Towan Headland where they spotted 23 species of bird in celebration of World Wildlife Day.

The species spotted included by the group of 15 enthusiasts included seven Cornish Chough, 10 Gannet, a Great Northern Diver and 30 plus Oystercatcher.

Rob Nicholls was the field trip leader for the trip, which was organised by Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, the founder and chair of Connect with Nature.

Rowena said: “Everyone had a wonderful time birdwatching.

“The weather was hazy with light drizzle, but the sun came out when the birdwatching got underway.

“I was so delighted that we were joined by nine-year-old Ettie Neal, a budding birdwatcher and 13-year-old Reggie Pascoe, a budding wildlife photographer.”
