AN array of vehicles are expected to head to the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge on Sunday, July 20, to take part in the 27th annual Wheels Classic Vehicle Show.

The biggest car event in North Cornwall is the best place for visitors to view classic cars, motorcycles, commercial vans/lorries, agricultural, tractors, steam engines and military vehicles.

The trade and automobilia stalls are sure to enhance the hive of activity, and there is fun for the kids also with a children’s play area and entertainment. Food and drink facilities will be dotted around the site.

Wheels, which was first run in 1995, is a fundraising event organised by Wadebridge Rotary to support local charities.

The friendly club, who serve the communities of Wadebridge and surrounding area, are always seeking new like-minded members to continue the active service the group have given to the local community since 1959.

Part of Rotary International, the international service organisation with a global reach, the Wadebridge branch meet up every Thursday at The Granary on Molesworth Street.

Members and supporters donate their time and make sure to keep costs to a minimum, ensuring that almost all the proceeds from the car show go to local charities.

In 2024, the event raised £28,287, beating the previous record set in 2022 by a slender £257. The organisers are hoping to achieve an even bigger amount this time around. Last year’s event saw over 3,000 people come through the gates and had over 1,000 registered exhibits.

Gates for this year’s event open to visitors at 10am, with free car parking adjacent to the entry point. Disabled Parking is available at the same location, just lookout for the signs.
