Around 100 cars spanning 100 years of motoring turned out for a classic charity car show in Penzance on Sunday.
The Penzance Rotary Centenary Classic and Vintage Car Show was staged on the promenade, which raised more than £600 for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Car owners from across West Cornwall brought their cherished vehicles out for all to admire against the backdrop of Mounts Bay.
Crowds of people of all ages admired and reminisced as they were able to inspect the cars close up and talk to their owners on what was a largely sunny Sunday afternoon.
Humphry Davy School band provided live musical entertainment which was good practice before they head off to perform internationally in Paris.
Deputy Mayor of Penzance, Cllr Will Elliot attended and toured the show, and the Penzance town crier, Phil Northcottm accompanied by his consort Rosie Northcottm shouted a welcome to everyone.
The town crier thanked Penzance Rotary for organising the show, and the exhibitors and the public for attending.
He went on to encourage everyone to donate to the Cornwall Air Ambulance for which Penzance Rotary were collecting donations.
Newly-installed president of Penzance Rotary for the next 12 months is John Underhill and he said, hard work, co-operation and mutual support had resulted in a most impressive display.
John said: “Everyone I spoke to said it was a superb show and brought the prom to life” and he thanked the 15 or so club members and volunteers who attended, marshalled, held collecting boxes and generally assisted.
“Staging community events and organising activities is not difficult but does require a lot of people all pulling together.”
