A special commemoration service will be held at Treswithian Downs Crematorium in September and members of the public are being invited to play a part in it by honouring their loved ones.
The crematorium is marking 14 years of providing exceptional care and support to its surrounding communities by hosting a commemoration event on Saturday, September 6 at 11am.
The service will include a photo slideshow to be played during a service and local families are being asked to submit images of their loved ones for inclusion in the tribute.
Treswithian Downs Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries.
Treswithian Downs Crematorium manager Kathy Green said: “We wanted to organise an event to commemorate our anniversary and it seemed only right that we found a way for local families to take an active part in it.
“The service starts at 11am, following which visitors will be able to enjoy light complimentary refreshments and spend time in our gardens for quiet reflection and remembrance.
“Having an image of a loved one included in a slideshow is an ideal way to honour and remember them while we mark 14 years of service to the Cornish communities around our site.
“No advance booking is required if anyone does wish to visit us on the day, and we look forward to commemorating our anniversary – and your loved ones – with you.”
Anyone who does want an image of their loved one included within the slideshow should email it to [email protected] with the words ‘Commemoration event slideshow’ in the header.
Images should be sent to the crematorium by Sunday, August 24.
