The response from Bodmin organisations, community groups and businesses wanting to provide support to vulnerable people this winter has been described as amazing.

Bodmin Town Council was commenting on the involvement of the community in its Warm Space Project across the town.

A council spokesperson said: “We initiated the Warm Space Project as, whilst we recognised that we had a space which could be used to offer a welcoming and warm provision, we also wanted to gather as much support for Bodmin as possible. There is an opportunity for Bodmin organisations, who we know already work incredibly hard to support the community, to come together and help provide warm and welcoming spaces so that people can come and get a hot drink, read, play games or be given supporting information which may help their situation, in what may be an extremely tough winter for many.

“We have been amazed by the level of support and generosity already being given by local organisations and businesses and we are hoping that many more are able to get involved.

“To support organisations joining the project, we have small grants of between £50 to £500 available which will help them offer a warm space or additional support.
