A Cornish photographer has captured a stunning picture of the 'Pacman Nebula'.

Jade Warner, 40, from Truro, took the image of NGC 281 using a Dwarf Lab Three telescope.

It took her four hours to take 243 images and she then stacked those images to get a clearer picture. Known as the Pacman Nebula for its resemblance to the video game character it is a bright emission nebula.

It is located in an H II region in the northern constellation of Cassiopeia and is part of the Milky Way's Perseus Spiral Arm.

Jade explained: "I live very high up so have wonderful opportunities to capture these things, not much light pollution at all. It lies about 9200 light years from Earth."

Jade, who admits she is new to photography, said she is 'just starting out' after buying a Dwarf Lab Three smart telescope recently.

Edward Emerson Barnard discovered the nebula in August 1883, describing it as "a large faint nebula, very diffuse".
