A free public event showcasing the outstanding work of artists and makers in Cornwall is calling on creatives to apply to join a leading arts festival next year.
Building on the success of three previous popular festivals, FORM will return to Falmouth in May 2026.
FORM showcases over 90 exhibitors, including painters, ceramicists, printmakers, jewellers, woodworkers and sculptors, continuing to represent Cornwall’s long-standing artistic tradition. Event organisers are calling for artists and makers who would like to take part in the event to send in their applications.
Applicants should be living and working in Cornwall or have a strong connection to the county in their work. A carefully curated selection of work will be exhibited next year from May 15 to 17 at Falmouth’s Princess Pavilion.
More information on how to apply by October 26 is available on the FORM’s website at www.formfalmouth.com
Conceived to celebrate the county’s contemporary arts and crafts heritage and vibrant creative culture, FORM provides a platform for people at all stages in their creative journey.
Last year’s FORM festival attracted over 5,000 visitors and next year, the music programme will be hosted by local radio station Source FM, who will be broadcasting from the festival.
FORM is spearheaded by two local creatives - Vicki Glaister of Inspire Makers, which presents the work of over 60 Cornish contemporary design-led artists and craftspeople, and Ann Morgan of Morgans, an art and design gallery that is a well-respected part of Cornwall's contemporary art scene.
Vicki and Ann introduce artists and makers to new audiences, support the growth of Falmouth’s dynamic artistic community, and offer opportunities to learn more about the visual arts, as well as encouraging the public to purchase directly from small creative enterprises and continue this legacy within their own homes.
Vicki said: “We’re both incredibly proud of FORM and the success of the event, attracting thousands of visitors and contributing £100,000 into the creative economy from last year’s festival alone.
“Artists and makers in Cornwall are influenced by the rhythms of the landscape that surrounds us, inspired by both the raw dynamism and the gentle ebb and flow. We believe the art created in Cornwall is unparalleled and deserves to be celebrated by both familiar and new faces.”
Ann added: “As volunteers running the event and friends, we are both immersed in Cornwall’s art scene and are passionate about sharing the county’s incredible talent. We’re looking forward to seeing a fantastic selection of applications to take part in this popular event.”
FORM is supported by Falmouth BID and is part of a group of creative and cultural festivals working together as “Falmouth Creates” to reflect the various elements of Falmouth’s vibrant cultural scene and community.
Keren Cooksey, Falmouth BID Manager said: “FORM exemplifies the essence of Falmouth Creates, the Falmouth BID’s collaborative initiative to support an inspiring programme of festivals dedicated to the creative sector.
“By celebrating Cornwall’s exceptional artists and makers, FORM not only showcases our deep-rooted creative traditions but also illuminates the innovative and dynamic culture that defines Falmouth.”
