A NEWQUAY charity has a new leader to help drive the organisation forward.
Jon Collins has been officially installed as the new president of Newquay Towan Blystra Lions for the next two years.
He has been a dedicated member of the club for eight years and has played key roles in many of its high-profile community events, which include the Newquay Beer Festival and the Santa Sleigh Run.
Jon, who is known for his commitment and energy, has already begun his presidential term by representing the club at several community donation presentations.
The members warmly congratulated Jon and wished him a successful two-year term as president.
The club also took the opportunity to express heartfelt thanks to the outgoing president, Heather Stanley, for her leadership over the past two years.

She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for excellence, which is one of the highest honours in Lions International.
Heather said: “Thank you to all the Club members who have made my time as president enjoyable.
“I am pleased to end my term with such an active and growing membership. I wish Jon all the best for his time as president. Many thanks to Jill and Phil Bunt for hosting our handover and providing the refreshments.”
A spokesperson for Newquay Towan Blystra Lions added: “With strong leadership and an enthusiastic membership, Newquay Towan Blystra Lions look forward to continuing their impactful work in the local community.”
