BLACK Voices Cornwall (BVC) hosts its annual Celebration of Culture festival on Saturday, August 2 from 11am to 5.30pm on Truro’s Lemon Quay.
The free, fun, family-friendly day out features global food stalls, children’s activities and local businesses including Ethio Queen Braids.
Live music will run throughout the day, from Plymouth’s Real Steel Band (regular visitors to Notting Hill carnival), tropical Latin vibes courtesy of Rumba Diablo, ska and reggae from Helston’s Skata-Likes, traditional Cornish repertoire from Jackson’s Claret, and the ever-popular Rock Choir – plus DJ sets from African Vibez and Konquerin Soundz.
BVC arts, culture and events lead Abi Tahela said: “We're super-excited for August 2. Whether you’re coming to dance, eat or learn, there’s something for everyone. Let’s come together to honour heritage and celebrate our cultures.”
