A match-day collection held at the Mennaye Field when the Cornish Pirates recently played Caldy raised £432.55 for Cornwall Hospice Care.

Julie Treneer, a community fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care, said: “Sincere thanks are expressed to the Cornish Pirates for allowing myself and several of our dedicated volunteers to make the collection.

“The generosity of the club’s supporters was also very much appreciated in enabling us to raise such a worthy amount.

“This money is very much appreciated and will go towards continuing the care for terminally ill patients and their families and loved ones.”
