CAMBORNE’S fifth annual Tykes on Trikes event saw children up to the age of ten pedalling hard through the town’s main street.

Supported by parents, family and friends, competitors gathered at the Tyacks Hotel for three separate races. Goodie bags were handed out to everyone who took part and free face painting at the hotel ensured some colourful entrants.

The event was organised by the BID Camborne team, Cormac loaned some road signage, and the Cornwall Bicycle Project gave all participants a voucher for a free bike MOT. Volunteers in fancy dress provided additional fun.

Samantha Fowler, chair of BID Camborne, said: “We were delighted with the turnout – especially as the weather wasn’t great. There were lots of smiles and some very impressive cycling.
